Welsh Open Flowboarding Championship Highlights
Below is a brief summary and highlights from the recent 2016 Welsh Open Flowboarding Championships. Thanks Simon Crew for letting us share the write up. Make sure to check out the cool video footage below!
Below is from Simon:
Cardiff International White Water Centre was the host to the first Welsh Open Flowboarding Championship on the 3rd of September this year.
The event was initially an idea thought up by local Flowboarder Simon Crew to grow and promote the sport of Flowboarding in the UK. He approached Cardiff’s manager Ben Longhurst who was happy for Cardiff Flowboarders to run the event. He suggested the event was held on the same day as the centre’s water festival so there would be a good crowd of spectators to showcase the sport.
The event ran with 9 classes on the day so we could cater for all riding abilities which proved to be popular as there were 35 entries from all over the UK.

Cardiff Flowboarders would like to thank Cardiff International White Water, Councillor Chris Hadfield, our sponsors and everyone that helped on the day. We are hoping to make the event bigger and part of the European Flow tour next year so would love more riders to come and compete on our wave.
